Kim Lissarrague (Liss-a-rarg)

I began making guitars in 1991 at the age of thirteen. Drawn to guitar making through my love of music and a keen interest in working with wood, I had the great fortune of meeting the luthier Peter Biffin. I then started to experiment with new techniques for building acoustic instruments, thus embarking on the luthier's path ... taking the natural beauty of wood and making it sing.

Working in Melbourne for Cargill Custom Guitars at the turn of the millenium, I refined my skills, repairing and making high quality guitars. These days I have a small workshop and showroom in Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

With a passion for the sound of the classical guitar, as a player and a seeker of that golden tone that has captured the hearts and minds of many, from the time of Antonio de Torres to the present day, I have developed my own designs based on the 'Australian School' of guitar making. I now sell instruments to accomplished international guitarists, including Izhar Elias of Holland.

I offer you a lattice-braced classical guitar, which has superb projection, clarity and sustain. Combining a full and rich character of tone, with singing trebles and warm basses. My guitars are beautifully handcrafted, using only the highest quality materials available. Anyone looking for a guitar with plenty of power and volume can be assured that a Lissarrague will deliver.

I invite you tou to visit my workshop and try for yourself, in the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains, my spruce and cedar guitars.
